How this area works

A central home for resources to be used in learning and action

Halve It! is a central place which Micah Challenge participants can visit to select materials they can use locally. Many of these materials have been created by national campaigns and are available from them and their websites, but using Halve It! provides one site with a wide range of global materials which are being updated and added to by participants.

A Store for resources created by Micah Challenge participants

Resources you have created - studies, activities, posters, graphics, stories, songs, videos - anything you can upload! - can be uploaded to the Halve It! site for others to make use of. The more widely these resources are used as part of the campaign the better! At the Thailand consultation (September 06) we discussed this with a number of members and agreed important copyright considerations - see the copyright page

A Store for resources created by Micah Challenge national campaigns

This is a central place where it's easy to browse materials created by national campaigns. It isn't meant to replace the work of those campaigns, just to make sure that as many people as possible make use of it. If you have materials from your campaign which are not available here do please contact us

A store for pictures and stories about events connected with Micah Challenge

'PictureJustice' allows you to easily upload individual images and accompanying stories of events, activities and illustrations of Micah Challenge in action around the world. You can scroll through these and use them as 'trigger activities' for your own activities (have a look at the 'How to Create Learning Experiences' link to find out more about how to do this).

Guidance on how you can use these materials for 'active learning'

The 'How to Create Learning Experiences' link provides you with guidance about how to stage events, studies, presentations and discussions using materials from 'Halve It! to really get people thinking  . . . and acting. It also provides case studies on how materials have been created by contributors from a number of locations. Have a look at this area and think about whether there are stories, images, or even videos that you could contribute too.

Contribute materials and ideas

It's easy to become a contributor, and the usefulness of this site will grow as you contribute ideas and materials. Just click 'how to become a contributor' in the logon area at the top of the page to start the process.

The overall site map

The site has three kinds of 'store' - for materials from national campaigns, for resources such as video which you have created, and for pictures with text (picturejustice). It has two advice areas which show how to use materials in teaching and how to create video material and stills.
